MELT METHOD® WORKSHOP:
MELT for PERFORMANCE TRAINING

Becoming a great athlete, whether recreational or professional, isn't just about how hard you train, it's also about how well you recover and reboot after training. Repetitive movements of sports performance can cause stresses and strains in the body's supportive connective tissues (fascia comprised of collagen, proteins, water, cells) impinging on their quality, integrity, and function. This connective tissue dysfunction, or what we call "stuck stress" in MELT, inhibits fascia's elasticity and supportive function as well as alters nerve pain receptors embedded in the tissue itself. This can lead to inflammation, poor motor patterns, weakened muscle coordination, and increased potential for injury, joint damage, pain, and stiffness. This is where MELT comes in.

MELT is a simple self-treatment that restores the supportiveness of the body's connective tissue to help eliminate chronic pain, improve performance, reduce injury, and relieve stress. If you pre-train with MELT you will find immediate improvements in control and movement; if you post-train with MELT, you can reduce some of the negative effects repetitive sports performance creates.

This workshop will focus on the areas of the body that are "in demand" during performance training: the shoulders, the inner core (deep abdomen, back, diaphragm, pelvic floor, Psoas Major muscles), the pelvic girdle (deep and side hips), legs (front of thighs, hamstrings, IT bands, and calves), ankles, and feet. Using MELT Soft Body Rollers and Foot Treatment Balls, you will learn simple 10-minute sequences that you can use as part of your training regime. Previous MELT Method experience (nor athletic prowess) is not necessary to participate in this program!

MELT Method Workshop: Deep Core & Hips

When our deep core stabilizing mechanisms and muscles lack stability and tone, we set ourselves up for chronic aches and pains that diminish our quality of life. Static postures, repetitive movements, injury, surgery, pregnancy and chronic health conditions can cause our deep core to weaken and neurologically perform sub-optimally. Atypical joint compression, inflammation and compensatory movement patterns can lead to chronic low back and neck pain, sciatica, SI joint instability, Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, plantar fasciitis and sleep and digestive issues.

MELT is a simple self-treatment system that helps you alleviate pain, prevent injury, reduce the signs of aging and feel fantastic. MELT works by rebalancing your nervous system and rehydrating your connective tissue — the tissue that surrounds your nerves, organs, joints and muscles. Using MELT balls and soft body rollers you will learn self-massage and core strengthening techniques that you can do at home to improve your alignment, increase deep core and hip stability and boost your body’s natural healing mechanisms.

This workshop is for men and women. Prior experience is not required. MELT equipment is available to loan for the workshop, and limited quantities are available for purchase (cheque or cash only). Participants will receive MELT self-treatment take-home instructions.
